To all of Sam's friends and colleagues:

Sam passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from complications after surgery. As some of you know, Sam lived in Austin with his son Sterling (same house for 15 years), with the rest of his family out of state. Thanks for caring - he valued all of his friends.

Sam was one of the original members and staff members here. I'll never forget all the help he provided not only myself, but the hundreds of members on our sites! He was a very smart individual who had a calm, cool, collective way about him.

Sam was very close to his son Sterling. He often spoke about his son's career and was so proud of him.

It is a shame I never met Sam in person. I believe we would have become even better friends. Sam always said I was welcome anytime and to head on down, but unfortunately that day will never come.

He really loved our sites and proved it to me by coming back when I asked him to over a year and a half ago. Things just won't be the same without him giving me s*** about this, that, or the next thing, but all he was doing was looking out for our best interest here!

Sam I will honestly miss you, you are my friend, my mentor, and just a person in life that cannot be replaced!
